Bad Economy Equals Health Problem; Seriously

Experts worry bad economy can lead to serious health problemsCan you imagine that?  On top of everything else going on, now the bad economic conditions can lead to serious health problems?  As if I didn’t have enough pain in my life already.  Do I really need anymore?  I guess it could be worse.  The bad economy could lead to stupidity.  Or it could lead to being extremely jumpy and having unrealistic expectations like say, oh, I don’t know, that people would learn to get along together regardless of race, color or ethnicity.  Might as well throw in world peace too while I’m at it.

Oh, I’m only being sarcastic because I live in a country where people actually expect the president to be in office for eight months and have all of the problem of the country solved.  Now, didn’t people have a real hard time accepting Jesus Christ and all HE did was heal the sick and feed the masses with 2 fish and five loaves of bread…..and HE was able to walk on water.  (don’t forget, they hung HIM on a cross to show how grateful they were but that’s another story) So, if the president, Mr. Barack Obama, did indeed solve all of the country’s problems what would they try to do to him?  Maybe he is better off having to struggle to get done the simple promises he made during his campaign.  Of course, he was alturistic enough to believe that Congress would be on his side and actually HELP him make some of the changes he envisioned.  Historically speaking, there is a precedent for the masses in power NOT helping the one who could make a difference ….(SEE JESUS CHRIST AND THE SCHOLARS, PRIESTS, ETC.)

Not that I’m comparing President Obama to JESUS.  I am, however, comparing the plight of a good person who only wants to help the people reach a higher plane and the masses in power who don’t want to accept that persons vision, words, ideas, etc.  (SEE CONGRESS AND DISRESPECTING THE PRESIDENT FOR FIRST TIME IN HISTORY IN A NATIONAL ADDRESS….NO LIE) So, as I ramble on about the stupid things that are occurring I guess I should make some kind of connection to how the economy is causing these outbreaks of stupidity.  I guess I COULD but, hey, it’s a blog and I’m only having some fun spreading my opinion.

So,  talking about the economy and pain.  Yes, when things are tight, people feel more stress.  When the body is under more stress, we tend to notice more little aches and pains.  The incidence of migraines goes up.  Sore backs increase as people sit in awkward positions working overtime to make up for the people who were laid off.  Regular headaches from too many meetings.  Indigestion from eating too many donuts and too much junk food at meetings and to make up for missing lunch.  We put our bodies thru so many changes that feeling some kind of pain is almost inevitable.  The body doesn’t forget the things we do to it.

You ever notice the number of men in positions of power and money that have these enormous potbellies?  Or at least big enough that you might mistake them for being a couple of months pregnant.  That girth around the middle isn’t good for the back let alone the other medical problems it presents.  The worse the economy is, the more fewer people are called upon to do the work of many.  Layoffs send people home, frustrated, aggravated and looking for an outlet.  Finding a way to work of the anger that goes along with being “downsized” can often lead to overexertion.  Trying to hard to get in extra reps at the gym.  Rushing to finish the “honey do” list that has been building up for the last few years while you were at work too many hours believing you had a future there; until you were downsized.  Ouch, did you just slam your hand on the desk?  Now you have a sore hand.  What can you do to make that pain go away quick?

Yes, a bad economy can lead to serious health problems.  I know that I was being sarcastic in my blog but seriously, we need to be aware that stress and being under stress for extended periods can lead to major health problems.  Some people discount that they are even under stress.  Don’t be fooled.  Just because you still  have your job while those around you are downsized and you are still able to meet your monthly bills doesn’t mean you aren’t under stress too.  Do whatever you can to take care of yourself.  Get some down time away from the job.  Go do something you truly enjoy.  Avoid fighting with your spouse or being upset about inconsequential things your kids do.  Find the time to enjoy your life.  If you work hard then play hard.  Love your family.  Don’t get stressed about the little things.  There’s a fun saying: “don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things”.  That’s some pretty good advice in a bad economy.

Here’s to staying healthy.
